John Stafford
Consultant and Project Director

John has twenty-five years in student affairs and higher education most recently as a Vice President & Dean of Students at Immaculata University. He has also taught in masters and doctoral graduate programs at Immaculata and Widener University including supporting doctoral students in the dissertation process.

In addition to serving as a senior student affairs officer, John was the residence life staff trainer at Rider University, in Lawrenceville, NJ, and served as a Chief Housing Officer (CHO) at Rider and The College of New Jersey, in Ewing, NJ. John is a founding member of the New Jersey Committee of Residence Life Educators (NJCORE). 

He has knowledge in first year and sophomore experience residential programs, new student orientation, senior year programming, facilities management (including construction of new facilities), fraternity and sorority affairs, alcohol education, Title IX policy development, crisis response protocol, staff selection and training, student conduct, student leadership development, social justice programing, and faculty programming. 

In his career, John has created student development programming models, developed a student conduct system, created a behavioral intervention team, collaborated in the development of student learning outcomes, produced assessment on services and learning outcomes, and has worked with many cross-functional teams in curricular and co-curricular programs. As a manager, John has reorganized departments, spearheaded the development of a strategic plan, analyzed auxiliary budgets, provided continuous review of policies and procedures, and provided vision and leadership to higher education teams.

John has a terminal degree in higher education administrative leadership from Widener University (Chester, PA), holds a Masters degree in Counseling and Human Development (Radford University, Radford, VA) and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Theatre Arts (Lenoir-Rhyne University, Hickory, NC). He is an avid reader and cook, enjoys conversations about politics and spirituality, and is an advocate for the humane treatment of animals.

John has presented at local, regional, and national conferences and has provided training and consultation to various institutions of higher education.
