Robyn Hadley, Rhodes Scholar

Affiliate Consultant Robyn S. Hadley provides expert advice to colleges and universities, organizations, community leaders and families to support strategic planning, organizational development, community outreach, and programming with a particular expertise in supporting first generation college students and low to moderate income families, respectively.

An author, entrepreneur, former corporate president, recent university vice president, and nonprofit creator and founder, she has dedicated much of her professional life to inspiring and guiding students in preparation for their post-secondary journeys. She spent nine years with the Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS) in NC first reporting to the Superintendent, then the Associate Superintendent for Support Services where she developed and became the executive director of the “What’s After High School?” Program. In this capacity she served as a representative of the school system to the chamber of commerce, 2 year and 4 year colleges and universities and grant funding organizations working closely with middle and high school principals, counselors and CTE leadership. The K–12 college access initiative was recognized as a MAGNA Award winner by the American School Board Journal and the National School Boards Association.

For her efforts to empower and inspire her community, Ms. Hadley was honored by the White House as a “Champion of Change” in recognition for work with rural students and families to assist them in getting to and through college. She is the author of Within View, Within Reach, Navigating The College Bound Journey, a “How To” guide for adults and parents assisting teenagers in the college exploration and application process (2010), and is currently preparing a second edition of that book with a companion podcast. Ms. Hadley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Rhodes Scholar.

Her career history before joining K&A includes service as vice president and dean of students at the University of Virginia, and, prior to that, as associate vice chancellor for student affairs & dean, Office of Scholar Programs at Washington University in St. Louis.
