Shawn De Veau, JD., joined K&A in September 2017 after working in and around higher education for more than 20 years. His experience brings together both long-term service at Merrimack College (including as Dean of Students) and a wide array of interim positions (most recently, Interim Director of Residential Life at Wellesley College). Throughout his career, Mr. De Veau has worked to elevate and strengthen the whole student experience, focusing on learning as an integrated academic and co-curricular journey not limited to the classroom. In K&A, Mr. De Veau is Coordinator of Operations and Consultant, leveraging his experience to increase internal capacity and optimize workflow, as well as consulting on projects with clients. He credits his legal education for his ability to approach problems differently (and recommends that you not answer any questions without a lawyer present…).
Mr. De Veau earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and took his law degree from Boston University (that makes three K&A esquires). His wife, Laura, is Vice President for Student Affairs at Mount Ida College, and daughter Sophia is adjusting to the inevitability of too much parental input in the college application process. Beyond his professional roles, Mr. De Veau maintains an impressive baseball card collection, loves sports of all varieties, and exhibits true New Englandism with his devotion to watching curling at every opportunity. In joining us he also increases the canine count at K&A; Daisy, an 8 year old beagle, has opinions and may contribute to the occasional conference call.
