Jill Lee-Barber, PhD joined K&A in 2025 with 32 years of experience in higher education, including leadership in senior positions, specifically in the areas of health, counseling, wellbeing, disability services, and recreational services. She is a licensed psychologist and a fellow of the American Psychological Association. In her role as an affiliate consultant, she focuses on health, counseling and wellness services as well as strategic and sustainability planning and change management.
Prior to joining the firm, Jill served as Associate Vice-President of Health and Wellness at Georgia State University in Atlanta, where she led all areas related to student health and wellbeing including: health clinics, counseling centers, testing, recreation services, disability services, nutrition, victim assistance, and student health promotion on six campuses with a total enrollment of over fifty thousand students. In that role, Jill served on the president’s advisory group leading the university’s public health efforts for all campuses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her passion for health equity and social justice informed her vision for restructuring both counseling and health services at Georgia State to increase student utilization and strengthen the quality of clinical outcomes.
A respected leader in her state, Jill represented the research institutions in the University System of Georgia on a mental health services task force to increase access to high quality, free mental health care for students at all USG institutions. On the national level, Jill served as the Vice-President for Professional Practice and as the President for the Section for College and University Counseling Centers within the American Psychological Association. She was invited to the International Congress of Psychology in Yokohama Japan to present on suicide prevention in college student populations in the United States.
Jill earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston and a master’s degree in counseling as well as a bachelor’s degree in English at Georgia State University. She resides in Atlanta and is the proud mom of a daughter who is majoring in English. Jill loves hiking, kayaking, yoga, travel, good music, gardening and cooking.
