Bill Fischer is a highly accomplished executive leader whose distinguished career in higher education spans almost three decades–-most recently as Vice President for Student Development at the University of Dayton. With a unique blend of leadership, strategic vision, and expertise in higher education administration, Bill played a pivotal role in shaping that university’s student development programs to meet students’ evolving needs. His efforts culminated in creating the division’s first comprehensive strategic plan, which was further refined and expanded with subsequent strategic initiatives emphasizing continuous assessment, inclusion, and educational excellence. He mentored and coached leaders in the division, empowering them to reach their full potential and drive organizational success.

Bill has also served as a consultant for other higher education institutions, facilitating numerous programs and trainings in conflict resolution and mediation. He has conducted external reviews of student conduct systems and Title IX programs to help institutions improve their policies and practices. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at several universities, including the University of Dayton, Northeastern University, and Suffolk University.

Bill has made significant contributions to professional associations as well. He served as president of the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA); in that role, he helped refine the organization’s mission and vision, introduced core values that continue to guide its work, and spearheaded the creation of its first diversity strategic plan. He earned the Distinguished Service Award from the Association in 2015. For six years, he was a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASACCU).

Bill’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from Villanova University, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Seton Hall University, an Institute of Higher Educational Management certification from Harvard University, and certifications in leadership and executive coaching from the Center for Executive Coaching and St. Joseph’s University, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Villanova University.
